To tell you the truth this could be a good thing. It gives the league more time to actually give us info and advertise our still little known league. Not to mention this will give us a better product on the field.

These are being rumored by this FOX report.

I like all cities except Miami and Dallas. Dallas is 100% Cowboys and Everyone is Dolphins 24/7.

UNGL should except AFL players

With the closure of the AFL 2009 season there is going to be alot of free agents. Now the UNGL states that it wont take players who were on any proleague active roster(AFL, NFL, CFL). UNGL is losing an opportunity on a ton of players who would love to play in a developmental league.

Sorry for the delay....but what we are doing is historic on a massive scale.Unlike other leagues that make big promises, big announcements,,,and then NEVER follow thru...this is not what we are about.I would encourage you to NOT make the assumption that just because we are delayed in the announcements you were expecting by now,, that we will not launch at all. There are just “certain things” that we can’t divulge right now because we are in some sensitive (and final) negotiations with sponsors, investors, and even some “professional football personnel”. I would suggest that you just “hang tight” until we complete our business. Rest assured that we have put in too much work the past 21 months to be hasty, or sloppy in our implementation. I would also close by reminding everyone that (just as in a professional football game)...”there is still time left on the clock” for us to have a successful launch to our 2009 season. I would suggest that “no one leave the UNGL stadium until the game is over” (smile)!Regards,Ben

The United National Gridiron League is entering an exciting new phase marching towards a January 25, 2009, kickoff. We will be unveiling our inaugural eight franchise locations and ownership groups over the course of the next few weeks. In addition to this, you may notice that our team logos have been taken down as we prepare for the announcement of our eight teams. As they reappear, you will begin to see which logos will kickoff the inaugural 2009 season. During this time, we will also begin to announce the specific logos that are assigned to each team.
The inaugural 2009 season will begin with eight teams but the business model for the league is built to support 22 teams.

Well to stop confusion between leagues the league has changed its name . The new league name is United National Gridiron League (UNGL). This is just a new name its not a new league!! Soon we will be changing the name of the website. It will be United National Gridiron League 101. I dont know if I will change the link name. I will tell you before hand.

I was reading a story and uncovered some news.

First bit is that the UNFL is talking with Alabama to but a franchise in Birmingham.

2nd bit is that owners and team cities will be named within the next 30 days. So get ready for news!

UNFL Players:

Commissioner Announced

The Commissioner of the UNFL was announced today!! My source was right when he said the commissioner could be a former NFL player. The new UNFL commissioner is---- Joe Cribbs. Cribbs was a All Pro Runningback for the Buffalo Bills. He also joined the USFL.

Cribbs said this: "We feel that our league will give them the opportunity to see players over a longer period of time(for the NFL)"

I like this move. This move makes sense because he seems to really know what the league is about.

TV deal news: Marvin Tomlin said they have been in talks with the NFL Network. This is huge for the league. This will add needed publicity.

Costs of Franchises: For any rich person reading this franchises only cost 1.5 million dollars.

Big news:Commisioner to be named tomorrow!!!!!!

The announcement of the League commissioner is coming tomorrow!! This is a sign that the league is really getting off. This could also be a sign that the league is close to signing all there teams.

Rumor-From a source close to the league: The commissioner could be a former NFL star.

This would make alot of sense. The league would get alot of publicity and a former NFL player helping a league trying to become a NFL minor league.

Well right now there locking down teams, owners, and investors. Fans the reason that your not hearing much is because the UNFL is so busy getting a better product on the field. You still have me for all the updates.

There has been 3 teams sold according to UNFL.com. We know 2 teams are in Texas. But the other one is a mystery. I think its in New York. But there are also 8 other cities talking with the UNFL. I will try to get the answer on the 3rd city. I will also try to get the answer on what dates will be used to announce what cities.
